What exactly does a doula do?

A doula offers continuous emotional, physical, and informational support through pregnancy, labour, and early postpartum—helping you feel prepared, supported, and confident.

Do you support hospital and home births?

Yes. I support home births and births at hospitals across the Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley, including Langley Memorial, Surrey Memorial, Peace Arch, Royal Columbian, St.Pauls, and Abbotsford Regional.

Do you support cesarean births?

Yes. As your doula, I provide continuous support during planned or unplanned cesarean births. Benefits include helping you and your partner feel calm and informed, offering comfort measures before and after surgery, assisting with advocacy so your preferences are respected, and supporting early bonding in the recovery room. My role is to ensure you feel empowered, cared for, and connected throughout the experience.

How does partner involvement work?

Partners are supported too—through practical techniques, reassurance, and clear guidance so they feel confident and engaged.

Is doula support covered by insurance?

Coverage varies by plan. Some benefits and employer programs reimburse doula care or classes—check with your provider. I am an approved provider with the Doulas for Aboriginal Families Grant Program (DAFGP).

When should I book?

As early as possible for birth support. Postpartum and overnight care can be booked during pregnancy or after birth.

Do you offer classes?

Yes—childbirth education and prep (three classes) covering physiology of birth, stages of labour, comfort techniques, fourth trimester, and car seat safety.
